A Beautiful Modern Japanese Showa Featuring Brilliant White, Vibrant Red, and Bold Black Coloration!
Bring the elegance and beauty of Japanese Nishikigoi to your pond with this stunning 5.5-inch Kindai Showa, bred by Otsuka Koi Farm in Japan. Known for its beautiful balance of white, red, and black coloration, the Kindai Showa is a modern variation of the traditional Showa Sanshoku and is highly admired for its bright, refined appearance.
Unlike traditional Showa, which often display a more dominant black (Sumi) foundation, Kindai Showa feature a greater proportion of white (Shiroji), creating a lighter, more contemporary appearance. The brilliant white areas provide a beautiful contrast against the vibrant red (Beni) and deep black (Sumi) markings, producing an elegant and visually striking pattern.
One of the most fascinating characteristics of young Kindai Showa is their potential for continued development. As the koi matures, its Sumi may emerge, deepen, or consolidate, while the Beni, Shiroji, and body conformation continue to develop. These natural changes make raising a young Kindai Showa particularly rewarding for koi enthusiasts who enjoy watching their fish grow and evolve.
